Description

MASSIVE BEARINGS
Roller bearings reduce overall operating expense by
as much as 50% compared to bushing-style crushers.
Roller bearings generate less friction, resulting in
more crushing power, and are far more tolerable of
ambient temperature/seasonal changes.
REVOLVING WEDGE TECHNOLOGY
A precision balanced “revolving wedge” fully
supports the cone head like a cam. Near-zero
clearance precision allows for the use of
time-proven non-contact oil seals. Internal
counterweights provide a remarkably vibration-free
operation and never require replacement or
rebalancing.
HYDRAULIC THREAD ADJUSTMENT
Our patented 360-degree hydraulic locking ring
holds the closed side setting (CSS) with unparalleled
locking pressure. Left-hand threads enable the
crusher to open up in the event of locking pressure
loss. Field-replaceable brass thread inserts resist
seizing.
ROBUST BASE FRAME
Kodiak Plus crushers feature a revolutionary Hybrid
Cast/Manufactured F.E.A. (Finite Element Analysis)
base frame design optimized to balance strength
and weight. Kodiak Plus crushers are the heaviest in
the class, thus applying more pounds per
horsepower into its core function — crushing.
Replaceable base frame liners and brass v-seat liners
provide an added layer of wear protection. The
anti-spin cone brake extends manganese wear life
and decreases potential for hazardous projectiles.
TRAMP IRON RELIEF
Pressure relief valves prevent violent, rapid release
of stored hydraulic pressure prevalent with
accumulators, while reducing maintenance and
stress on the machine should overload events
occur. Liner changes are quick and easy due to
a split coupler that quickly unfastens the upper
section of the crusher. Pivot cylinder bases help
absorb misalignment that may occur while passing
un-crushable material.
MILO AUTOMATION CONTROLS
“MILO” (Machine-Interface-Logistics-Operation) is
a powerful PLC control system that continuously
monitors operation and makes adjustments when
possible, issues warnings and will shut the crusher
if necessary. A 120V output is provided for
controlling the feed conveyor. MILO can be
operated either as a stand-alone control or
integrated into a plant-wide control system, and
our control panel may be used indoors or out in
the elements.
On crushers equipped with an optional hydraulic
cone brake, the bowl position counter can be reset
automatically. This “AutoZero” logic detects the
currently chosen CSS and then automatically
rotates the bowl down until it contacts the cone.
Once MILO detects an increase in pressure within
the hydraulic cone brake, it will stop rotating, set
the counter to zero and rotate back up to the
previous CSS.
