Description

58KW Terex Model T70Jdiesel generator, John Deere power on trailerI purchased this '02 Terex diesel generator last year with plans to use it for maintenance on my rental properties (bed bug electrical heat remediation). Soon afterward, I decided to purchase a propane powered heating system and therefore have not needed/used the generator. Because this is a good piece of equipment, I have looked for other ways to utilize it, but finally, I have decided that I don't have good justification to keep it. I have faithfully exercised the generator 20 min/week to keep it healthy; it starts up every time with the flip of a switch. I recently had my generator maintenance company check over the unit while performing my home generator system maintenance. The serviceman informed me that his opinion was this is a well maintained unit (c/w its history of ownership by a large rental company). He found no problems with its performance or function. He only suggested that the battery might need replacement within the next year or so (although it has never failed to start during my ownership). The hours on the meter read "11,100"-and written to the side of the meter w/a sharpie pen, "+300". So, I suppose this indicates the total hours on the generator is ~11,400. From all I have read, these John Deere diesels are considered "bullet-proof" engines that, when maintained, typically last 20-25 thousand hours or more. Although none of us can predict the future, I expect this unit to have a long remaining life expectancy. I am aware of no current problems which would limit this. The unit would probably benefit from a good paint job. The current paint is a bit over-sprayed/orange-peeled with some superficial rust and blistering around the doors/openings. Cosmetically, from four or five feet, it looks fine (assuming you're not planning to enter it into a car show)Single phase-110v, 220v, and three phase-440vThis unit has a huge diesel fuel tank, which sandwiches between the gen-set and the frame/axles of the trailer (118 gal).I would estimate the tires have between 40-50% of their useful tread remaining. This is a 2002 year model Terex super quiet generator with the following characteristics:Prime = 48KW @ 50 HzPrime = 54KW @ 60 HzStandby = 50KW @ 50 HzStandby = 60KW @ 60 Hz65 dBA = super quiet designation.Generator type: Brush-less, 4-pole, Synchronous, Single Bearing, 1800 rpm, Class H insulationTrailer hitch: Pintle Ring, 2-5/16"It is my opinion that this is a very good and dependable piece of equipment. Whether your plans are to use it for emergency back-up or daily use as a contractor, I expect you will be satisfied with your purchase for years to come. $7500, 8704044481
