Wharton Twin Capstan 5 tonne Diesel Powered Trailer Mounted Winch
Direct from the BBC where it was used for cable pulling and mast erection. It has been well maintained and serviced to be kept in working order, and has been kept in dry storage. The engine is a Petter J2 two cylinder, electric start with manual back up with 570 hours. This is coupled to a hydraulic pump for power to the winch. It has 2 speed control with forward and reverse with a load meter gauge. The winch is a twin capstan with approx.. 180 metres of 22mm (7/8 inch) cable all of which is in good condition. It is all mounted on a single axle trailer with good tyres. We estimate the weight to be between 2 - 3 tonnes.
